Sağlık çalışanı sayısındaki artışın ardındaki yaşlanma riski

An Ageing Workforce Behind Global Health Gains

C1 · 4 dakikalık okuma · Kaynak: World Health Organization, 18 Eylül 2026

Metin

The global supply of health workers has improved, but a new WHO report warns that headline growth can conceal serious shortages. The density of doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists and pharmacists rose by 52 percent between 2006 and 2025, reaching 67.9 per 10,000 people. More than 70 million health and care workers are employed worldwide. Distribution, however, remains unequal: the European Region has thirteen times as many doctors per person as the African Region. Ageing adds another complication. Across the latest data from 122 countries, nearly one doctor in four is over 55 and expected to retire within the next decade; the share approaches one in three in high-income countries. Meanwhile, ageing populations may need more care. WHO projects a worldwide shortfall of 11.1 million health workers by 2030 and says 67 countries will lack enough personnel to meet health needs. It calls for stronger planning, training, employment and retention, supported by better workforce data rather than relying on global averages.

Doğru cevap: C

Küresel artış, bölgeler arasındaki büyük dağılım farkını ve emeklilik çağındaki hekimlerin oluşturduğu yaklaşan açığı gizleyebilir. C seçeneği iki temel uyarıyı birlikte ifade eder.

Overall workforce gains coexist with severe regional disparities and substantial near-term doctor retirements.
